History at a glance.

Before 1920 : Chad had no missionary activity of any kind.

1920s first missionaries among animist tribes of the South.

1940s first missionaries in central areas.

1950s first missionaries in Abéché.

1962 WEC starts working in collaboration with SUM in Abéché

1969 WEC opens work in Adré.

late1970s Civil war closes down almost all WEC activity in the Abéché-Adré area.

1980s work re-established and expanded.

1990s COCOAM formed, new body within which several protestant missions collaborate with each other and in partnership with the Evangelical Church in Chad (EET).

First group baptism. Learning centres started.

Work amongst Arabic speakers in the capital started.

2000s Work among nomads and in Guéréda started.
