Each year we produce a Gospel calendar which displays texts from the new scripture translations in Chad Arabic. (Click the picture to see it in its full glory!)
These calendars serve as a tool for local Christians and missionaries to use all over the country and as publicity for the Chad Arabic scriptures. As well as being seen in homes, they get into shops offices and even mosques.
One worker has recently written:
“I can’t explain why nobody [in this town] seemed to want the 2007 calendars but this year my stock is nearly all gone. Some I’ve sold for a minimal amount in the market or from my house. A few I have given away and many were given away to leaders in the nearby refugee camps. Some of the southern Christians also bought them to give away to neighbours and work colleagues around Christmas/ New Year. The biggest surprise was one Tama man who bought 30 to give to each member of his family.”
The 2009 edition is currently being distributed.
